Who runs this site

mariospina.com is the personal and professional site of Mario Spina, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Questions about this notice or about your information: contact@sapientesgroup.com.

No accounts, no cookies, no forms

The site has no user accounts, sets no cookies and has no contact form. If you use the light/dark toggle, your choice is stored in your own browser (a localStorage entry named theme) and is never sent anywhere. The site search runs entirely in your browser against a static index; your queries are not transmitted.

Traffic measurement

Pages load Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless beacon. It reports each page view to Cloudflare with the page URL, the referrer, your browser and device type and the approximate country, and Cloudflare shows me aggregate counts and Core Web Vitals. It does not set cookies or use browser storage. It is served from static.cloudflareinsights.com and reports to cloudflareinsights.com; Cloudflare's own privacy policy applies to what it holds. A content blocker that stops the beacon does not affect the site.

Server logs

The site is delivered by Amazon CloudFront from a bucket in Amazon Web Services' Calgary region. CloudFront writes standard access logs (time, requested URL, status, your IP address, browser identification, referrer, edge location) to a private bucket in Calgary, kept for 90 days, then deleted automatically. I read them in aggregate to tell human visits from bots and scanners; I do not use them to identify visitors. Amazon's infrastructure is covered by AWS's privacy notice.

Booking a call

"Book a call" opens a scheduling window from Cal.com. Nothing from Cal.com is loaded until you move to or press that button. What you enter there (your name, email address, the time you pick, any notes) goes to Cal.com, which creates the meeting and emails us both; it is governed by Cal.com's privacy policy. I keep the booking as ordinary correspondence for as long as the conversation is useful. Write to me to have it deleted.

Where data is processed

Pages and logs: Amazon Web Services, Canada (Calgary) and CloudFront's worldwide edge network, which caches only the pages. Traffic measurement: Cloudflare, worldwide. Bookings: Cal.com, United States. Email: Proton, Switzerland.

Your rights

You may ask what information I hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, by email. Aggregate analytics and expired logs cannot be traced back to you. If you are not satisfied with my answer, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Changes

When this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. It describes what the site does today.
